Dear Potential Students and Families,

We invite you to explore the St. Johns County School District (SJCSD) Deferment Program options as part of the application process. Touring both the Life Work and Community Campus programs will help you better understand how SJCSD Transition Programs prepare students for adult life through community engagement, vocational training, and partnerships with local agencies and businesses.

Tours are available on select dates, and you can sign up using the link below. All tours begin at St. Johns Community Campus, where all visitors and students aged18 or older must sign in and present a photo ID. Please make sure you’ve completed the School Access Form before your visit.

We also offer the option to visit one of our Life Work Work-Based Learning Experience (WBLE) sites. While this is optional, we encourage families (including the student) attend. Please note, you will need to provide your own transportation to the WBLE site, and you may leave directly from that location. The full tour day concludes by 2:00 PM.

Important Notes:

SJCSD strongly recommends that families (including the student) tour both the Community Campus and Life Work programs to make an informed decision.

• Dual enrollment opportunities with SJRSC and FCTC are currently only available through the Life Work program. If your student is primarily interested in dual enrollment, we suggest you prioritize the Life Work portion of the tour.

Please note: Although Life Work is located on the First Coast Technical College (FCTC) campus, it is a separate program. To tour FCTC’s career and technical education programs, please visit their website directly.

• If your student may need ongoing support services into adulthood—such as MedWaiver services, supported living, or group homes—we highly recommend visiting both programs. Touring both will give you a clearer understanding of how our programs work together to meet a wide range of student needs.

• Community Campus: 10:00 – 11:00 AM
• Life Work Tour, VR Presentation, & Program Application Overview: 12:00 – 1:00 PM
• Optional Life Work Worksite Tour: 1:00 – 2:00 PM
